I flew up in mid-December and have been seeing friends, working on storyboards, doing some necessary shopping and just enjoying time at home. I'm looking forward to getting back in the groove at school but I certainly feel like I could use another 3 weeks until then. I miss seeing everyone though, and that's the best part of school, really. Along with the wonderful learning experience, of course. ;)
I'm writing this more as a journal entry for myself. I've found that this old blog has helped me remember things from my past. So what to remember about the last month of school then?
Well the second-to-last week of school was pretty hectic. Sound projects were due Monday morning, character designs due Monday night. Final dialogue animation was in the works for the following week, as well as an essay. Final exam in History of Character on Wednesday morning and final story reels were due that night. That Thursday at midnight a bunch of us went to see the Princess and the Frog at the Arclight in Hollywood. That was a fun night. Had a latte accidentally and ended up staying awake until 7 the following morning. Caffeine, man...it's powerful stuff...
The following week everything was either due or had been done, so it was a combination of sleeping when we could and putting the last bit of energy we had into final assignments. Also many of us got to go to the Disney Studios to see Frog again. I've seen it two more times now at home. Go 2D!!!
At the end of the week I attended a nice small dinner get-together at Mimi's to wrap up the Semester. It was a good bookend; I had begun the semester at Mimi's and to end it there seems fitting. That restaurant has been the place we can go to escape school and pretend we're in France.
So here's to next semester, a toast;
Let's Do the Best We've Ever Done!! (and have a good amount of fun doing it)

You'll be seeing more toucans as the year goes on, I promise... ;)
*toasts*
